Officials crossing fingers in hope that Amazon will come to senses, shortlist Kitimat for new HQ

With Amazon searching out the home for a second headquarters, only Toronto made the list for Canada, but town officials are still crossing their fingers that the company will recognize the immense value of Kitimat.

“Sure, Toronto is a big city and all, but Kitimat has a lot to offer that Toronto can’t,” said the Mayor. “For one, not many people within Amazon have probably heard of Kitimat before, which should play well with the hipster crowds.”

In their application filings, the District of Kitimat also cited other benefits, such as a well-established Fields department store, Christmas decorations during the winter on light poles, and bears.

“For such an immense international business, it’d be unwise for them not to consider Kitimat.”
