In keeping with boil water notice, Kitimat swimming pool maintained at 102C

Swimmers in Kitimat can rest easy during Kitimat’s boil water notice, as the town’s Leisure Services department is providing for community safety by ensuring the water in the swimming pool is kept at 102 degrees Celsius.

“The water is always treated in the proper methods and monitored,” said a safety representative for Leisure Services. “We’ve just gone the extra mile to make sure we adhere to public safety notices.”

Swimmers in Kitimat say adjusting to the temperature does take a few extra minutes than usual, but it’s worth it for their health.

Plus they can always cool down in the sauna after their swim.
