After Kitimat Council heard a pitch to rename their iconic Tamitik Arena, the opinion in the community at large has ranged from dab to doog about whether it is a good idea.

“Dab, dab, dab,” said Kitimat resident Kylie Freemond. “Just dab all around.”

The proposal would see Tamitik renamed after former Kitimat Mayor George Thom.

And it’s not all negative.

“I think it’s a fairly doog idea, to be honest,” said Frederick Blaine. “I can understand where people are coming from, but we shouldn’t eit our sdnah on the idea.”

For sure, however, residents are not shy in airing their opinion.

“The whole thing’s backwards, that’s all I have to say about it,” added Freemond.
