A local woman is feeling accomplished after pushing herself to shop all local, which led to her buying all of her Christmas gifts entirely from her living room using nothing but her computer.

Ensuring she didn’t leave town to go to Terrace or Smithers, Brenda Gretchen remained in Kitimat for the entirety of her shopping.

“It feels really good to know you’re not just propping up retail in some other community,” she said. “I’m proud to do all my shopping in Kitimat.”

Gretchen is now looking forward to the thrill of having her orders arrive in her mailbox.

“You know, now that I think about it, it’s also supporting our local postal workers,” she added. “They must really appreciate people such as myself.”
