Smith Street residents would like to point out to Trick-or-Treaters there are other streets in Kitimat

As Halloween is just days away, Smith Street residents are quick to point out that theirs isn’t the only street in Kitimat.

Smith Street is renowned as a major source of candy for Trick-or-Treaters every Halloween.Halloween

As such, the road becomes a major hazard of costumed kids.

“You know Starling, Swallow, Swan, and so many other streets are right nearby,” said Smith Street homeowner Deborah Cullins. “Spend more time hitting up the Nechako or Kildala neighbourhoods, please.”

Cullins does admit that historical homeowner generosity has led to this issue.

“Perhaps we need to band together as a street and start handing out fruit like apples and oranges,” she said.

Local RCMP warn that they may not be able to contain the violence that could erupt if the street collectively switches from candy to fruit products.
