A volunteer for the Kitimat River Clean Up event turned emotional when he was reunited with his long lost shirt.

Brett Sparks saw what he thought was usual trash buried in the mud on the Dyke Road but he soon realized it was a shirt he had thought was gone forever.

“You can’t imagine what I was thinking!” said Sparks, fighting tears. “This shirt went missing five years ago when my ex girlfriend left with it.”

Sparks said the shirt is more gritty and tattered than he remembers it but is looking forward to breaking it back in.

Sparks then broke down crying again before the interview was over.
