A Kitimat man is rushing out to buy a lottery ticket after the fourth consecutive time going to Lakelse and discovering the tide’s in.

Gregory Smith loves swimming and makes the detour to Lakelse whenever he returns from Terrace.

While he expects one day the tide will be out, he’s enjoying his lucky streak while it lasts.

“This is amazing,” said Smith. “I never have to wait for the tide to come in. It’s always at its peak.”

Smith said one day he plans to bring in his sailboat and set off from Lakelse on a sailing trip down the west coast.

He added friends typically advise him against that dream but they’re always vague as to why.
