The community of Kitimat was shouting with happiness and honking their horns throughout town as they celebrated their 1-0 victory over France in Euro 2016.

Kitimat was initially worried with loss of their star player Cristiano Ronaldo to an injury earlier in the game but the team went on to earn the European Championship, to much community applause.

It is certainly a significant day for everyone in Kitimat.
