The Douglas Channel has come out insisting that everyone just start calling it Doug.

“Oh please, Douglas Channel was my father’s name,” said the iconic fjord. “Just call me Doug.”

The Channel said that its relationship with everyone in the region has long passed the point of formality and it insists everyone is just friends here.

The Channel, er, Doug, said it has always loved being the centre point of the local communities and for industry, a thing everyone can enjoy.

“All day long people come out to just look at me and admire me,” said Doug. “It’s always made me feel good.”

Doug the Channel appeared to be in a particularly happy mood through the course of the interview as it continuously kept waving.
